History:
Rapid City, South Dakota was established in the year 1876. It was initially called as Hay Camp. In February 1876, Samuel Scott and John Brennan designed the current site of Rapid City. The name Rapid City was derived from the Rapid Creek, which flows around the area. In the later half of 1880s, the 1st railroad appeared in Rapid City. In the year1882, this city was incorporated. By 1900, this South Dakotan city became a key local trade center.
