Longview, Texas is located is situated within Texas Lake Country, to the south of the Sabine River and is surrounded by the pinewood and heartwood forests of north east Texas. History:
The city was established in 1870 and incorporated in 1871. By 1872 the first railroad to the city had been built and Longview continued to grow until the boom of 1931 when oil was discovered.
