Irving, Texas is part of the greater metropolitan area of Dallas. Within the city limits of Irving is Las Colinas, which is a very affluent master-planned community that was developed in 1972. There are also several architecturally beautiful office buildings as well as member-only country clubs. The Dallas/Ft. Like the rest of the country, Irving has been adversely affected by the slump in the economy, but by 2010 the city's budget is in good shape. City officials worked hard to cut costs across the board and to increase revenues in areas where they could. he cost of living in Irving is more than 10 percent lower than that of the average city in the U.S. The unemployment rate there is almost two percentage points below the national average. With employment opportunities on the rise, it's no wonder why Irving moving companies are so busy.

Tourism:
If you are looking for a little escape, you'll love Irving's Mandalay Canal where you will feel like you are in Europe as you stroll down the cobblestone streets lined with quaint shops and restaurants. You might also enjoy the Heritage House – built in 1912 it is one of the oldest domiciles in Irving. The house was built by C.P. Schulze (brother of one of the city's founders) had the house built for his wife, Virginia Tucker. The Schulze family gave the home to the city of Irving in 1975 to allow residents and visitors to tour the home, still furnished with antiques from the family.

History:
Irving, Texas was founded by Otis Brown and J.O."Otto" Schulze in 1903. It officially became a city on April 14, 1914. Irving's first mayor was one of its founders – Otis Brown. In the 1930s Irving saw a significant increase in the city's population. As a result, Irving got mass transit in the form of city buses during the same decade. The growing city began to attract more and more businesses to Irving. By the 1950s Irving had its own city government.
