The place now known as Boynton Beach, Florida was originally incorporated as the Town of Boynton in 1920 to distinguish it from a community with the current name. For some unknown reason the original Boynton Beach changed its name to Ocean Ridge and Town of Boynton became Boynton Beach in 1941. With that behind it Boynton Beach assumed an assured future with tourism leading the way towards development and wealth.
