December 9, 2011 - The townhouse from the iconic film Breakfast at Tiffany's is on the market and listed at $5.85 million. The seller is Peter Bacanovic, a management consultant who purchased the home for $1.88 million.
In the movie, the home belonged to Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard, but current owner Bacanovic gained his own fame as the former Merrill Lynch broker that was sentenced to jail during the Martha Stewart court case.
The home is quite different from what was shown in the movie, but it does have 3,200 square feet of living space divided into two duplexes among four floors. Features of the home include wood burning fireplaces, a library and a sweeping staircase.
There is no doubt that the outside of the home was featured in the film, but many sources suggest interior shots were filmed in a studio. Either way, the timing is just right for fans of the movie to call the
moving company, as the film's 50th anniversary is approaching.
