June 1, 2012 - San Francisco Giants fans may be surprised to hear that star pitcher Barry Zito is moving out of his home located in Kentwood, California. Public records show he purchased the home back in 2007 for $8.863 million, but he has relisted it with a slightly higher asking price of $11.495 million.
Zito began his baseball career with the Oakland A's back in 2000 before going to the Giants, who offered him a seven-year deal worth $126 million, to make him the highest paid pitcher in MLB history of all time.
Realtor.com reports the Tuscan-style estate, also known as Villa Della Pace, was built in 2002 and sits on nearly two acres of land overlooking Mt. Tamalpais and Phoenix Lake. With 7,116 square feet of living space, the home offers four bedrooms and seven bathrooms, as well as a number of upgraded features. Some notable amenities include walnut and limestone flooring, an infinity pool with mountain views and marble-lined courtyards.
It has not been reported where Zito will be
moving boxes to, but he will likely purchase property near San Francisco.
