Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher moving into New York flat

August 8, 2012 - Celebrity news sites report that singer-songwriter Liam Gallagher may be calling for moving services soon, as he recently purchased a home near Central Park in New York City. Records show the musician paid $2.5 million for the condo, despite its original asking price of $2.9 million.

Despite his recent dabbling in the fashion industry, Gallagher is best known as the frontman for British rock band Oasis, which he formed with his brother Noel.

The unit is located on the 17th floor of the Essex House at 160 Central Park South, and offers 1,575 square feet of living space including two bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. While the individual unit boasts upgrades including herringbone flooring, a modern kitchen, a wine cooler and views of the park, the building also offers a number of celebrity-status amenities including 24-hour room service and valet parking.

While he may be moving boxes in for good, Curbed reports the building also offers to rent out the unit should he choose to take a long vacation. The average cost per month to rent condos like Gallagher's reportedly starts at $6,800.
