April 22, 2011 - One wealthy buyer could get the opportunity of
moving into the home of a rock legend - Eric Clapton.
A home in Venice, California, that was once owned by Clapton has hit the market for $2.5 million, according to various reports. The property's current owner, actor and architect Steve Meadows, has owned the property since 2003 but says he now plans on hiring a
moving company and selling the home. Aside from getting their hands on an architecturally impressive home, the new buyer could also get the opportunity of possessing a tape of one of Clapton's home practice sessions.
Meadows found the original recording was left behind after Clapton moved out, but he says he has no intention of bringing it with him to his next destination. So, the person unpacking their
moving boxes at Clapton's old home would also get a rare piece of rock history.
"You hear him tuning up [on the tape] and he plays guitar for 12 to 14 minutes. It's distinctive. I had never heard it before and it's never been recorded, to my knowledge," Meadows told Inman news.
Clapton's career has spanned several decades, and he holds the unique distinction of being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame three times - once as a solo artist and then again as a member of Cream and the Yardbirds.
