September 7, 2012 - Celebrity real estate site Curbed reports that music mogul Russell Simmons has relisted his penthouse in New York for sale.
While he originally listed it for sale for $11 million, he temporarily changed the asking price to $8.2 million but failed to sell even with the discount back in 2005. It has reappeared on the market with the initial asking price, but it has yet to be reported how much he paid for the Liberty Street home.
The two-story home has 7,175 square feet of living space including five bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms, while an additional 3,500 square feet of exterior place make the estate's terraces plenty big for hosting celeb gatherings. While there are two smaller terraces off the upper level of the unit, the roof terrace is much larger and includes a deck.
Some notable features of the property that may prompt potential buyers to hire
moving services include a gourmet kitchen, spa-like bathrooms, vaulted ceilings and hardwood floors throughout. It also has a large den, a fireplace and a library, according to the home's official listing.
