MLB star Ichiro Suzuki moving into New York City rental

August 28, 2012 - Like many professional athletes, New York Yankees player Ichiro Suzuki has chosen to rent a home in the city he plays for instead of buying. The New York Post reports that he and his wife Yumiko Fukushima are now renting a property in the city that was listed for $40,000 a month.

While it has not been said if they have already begun moving boxes in, the news source notes large apartment on East 67th street is fully furnished. With four bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms, the unit is certainly big enough for the couple and their dog.

The building itself has a number of star-style amenities including a multi-level fitness center. The 31-story building also has a number of units with great views of the city, according to the source.

Suzuki got his start with the Seattle Mariners back in 2001, but is now an outfielder for the Yankees. He is also the first MLB player to be inducted into the Japanese Baseball Hall of Fame.
