September 11, 2012 - News reports are buzzing as the former home of late NFL linebacker Junior Seau recently sold. Public records show he purchased the home back in 2005 for $3.2 million, however, it was listed with a significantly lower asking price of $2.3 million in July after his death. Buyers will be
moving boxes in after paying just $1.97 million.
Seau began his career in California with the San Diego Chargers in 1990, where he played 12 seasons, before going to the Miami Dolphins in 2003. In 2006 he went on to play for the New England Patriots before retiring in 2009. The home that recently sold was located in his hometown of Oceanside, which is also where he died.
According to reports, the home was built in 1997 and offers 2,238 square feet of living space including three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. While few details have been said about the homes features and amenities, it home has become a place for fans to memorialize the influential player.
