July 18, 2011 - Fans of the Harry Potter book series may be able to own a part of the author's legacy. That is because the childhood home of Harry Potter creator, author J.K. Rowling, is ready for the
moving company in Tushill, England, according to Time Magazine.
Church Cottage, built in 1852, was created in the Gothic Revival Style, and is reminiscent of homes described in the Potter series. Homebuyers can have the
moving services unload the
moving boxes at the piece of literary history for around $343,000, according to Curbed.
The home, which comes with an under-stair cupboard reminiscent of the one the boy wizard slept in the first few novels, has three bedrooms. The property's current owner, BBC producer Julian Mercer, told the BBC that many Potter fans engage in international moving in order to catch a glimpse at Rowling's former pad.
Added incentive for the Potter faithful can be found in one of the home's bedrooms, where Rowling made her mark before heading off to University. "Joanne Rowling slept here circa 1982," is written on a wall according to the news source.
