June 19, 2012 - In a move that will likely drive some high-end house hunters to research
moving companies, the home that once belonged to the late television icon Merv Griffin is now available for purchase.
The sprawling estate in La Quinta, California, has been available for rent since Griffin passed away in 2007, according to celebrity blog The Real Estalker, but it has now become available for those with a
moving quote for the cool asking price of just $9.5 million.
The site says complex contains a total of 14 bedrooms and 12 bathrooms, which are distributed among the 5,000-square-foot main building as well as the six distinct guest houses. Each of those guest houses also has a porch, wet bar and individual fireplace.
The luxury complex also includes a number of upper-echelon features, according to the source, such as a 16-stall horse stable and racetrack as well as a 2.5-acre fully stocked private fishing pond complete with a swan-shaped paddle boat.
Griffin left behind a lasting legacy in the television world. In addition to his own daytime talk show, he also created the popular programs Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
