January 23, 2012 - Sources report that NHL star Alex Ovechkin recently purchased a home in McLean, Virginia. The properly was originally listed at $4.395 million but he will be
moving into the home for just $4.275 million. The Russian hockey player has a 13-year contract with the Washington Capitals worth $124 million and serves as the team's captain.
The mansion was built in 2011 and offers just over 11,000 square feet of living space including five bedrooms and seven-and-a-half bathrooms. Photos of the home show a well-manicured lawn spread across 1.25 acres of land. The backyard of the home is accessible from the large deck that is located right off of the gourmet kitchen.
The inside of the home is open and filled with natural light let in by the windows throughout the home. Other features of the home include marble countertops, dark wooden floors, multiple fireplaces and a grand staircase that leads to the second and third floors.
It has not been reported if anyone is
moving boxes into his previous home in Arlington, which he purchased for $1.59 million in 2005.
