Actor Pierce Brosnan sold home in Malibu Beach

January 12, 2012 - After the Huffington Post first reported seeing landscapers touching up the outside of the Malibu home, sources have confirmed that someone has called a moving company after purchasing Piece Brosnan's property. The Los Angeles Times reports that the Mediterranean-style home has sold for $2.6 million. The beach house was first put on the market at $3.9 million in 2010.

Brosnan is best known for his role as the fifth James Bond in the ongoing series of 007 films, but has also starred in many other movies including Mamma Mia and The Ghost Writer. The actor reportedly purchased the home in 1996 for just $600,000 and shared it with his wife Keely Shaye Smith after they married in 2001.

The estate has 3,800 square feet of living space including three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. Other features of the home include arched windows, wood-beam ceilings, a library, office and multiple balconies and fireplaces throughout.

Sources report that the couple listed their home and put their stuff in storage while building another property in the Malibu area.
