July 12, 2012 - Celebrity real estate site Curbed reveals that the former home of the late musician Jim Morrison has been listed for sale. While the home last sold for $535,000 in 2001, buyers can purchase the home located on Laurel Canyon for $1.9 million.
Morrison was the lead singer of rock band The Doors and has served as inspiration for many modern day singers. He was listed as one of the greatest singers of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. He shared the home in Los Angeles with his longtime partner Pamela Courson, while the estate was the inspiration for the song Love Street.
The home was originally built in 1922 but underwent renovations throughout the 1950s before being purchased by Morrison. According to the listing, the home offers 3,656 square feet of living space with three bedrooms and two bathrooms and a number of traces of the rock star, including a hidden shower, where Morrison was believed to write lyrics on the walls.
Other notable features of the property that should prompt buyers to start
moving boxes in include an outdoor gym, an upper terrace, distressed hardwood floors throughout and that it comes complete with custom-designed furniture.
