In 1910, North Hollywood saw the Bank of Lankershim rise, followed by a market, bakery, dry goods store and a drug store. That was the beginning of everything. Next other businesses including Carl Laemmle’s Universal Film Manufacturing Company came to town, which became the first movie-making community.
