Stamford is part of the New York metropolitan area.  Residents enjoy the proximity of the city, while living in the ninth-safest city in the United States, according to the FBI. What’s more, in 2006, CNN/Money and Money magazine ranked Stamford 46th on its list of the 100 Best Places to Live in the United States.

Stamford is considerably more affluent than national average, though the city is largely liberal. The neighborhood is largely diverse and has about six distinct neighborhoods. There is a large composition of Italian Americans living in Stamford, adding to its cultural richness.
